
‘BOLLE’ MURANO GLASS BOTTLE, 1989
DESCRIPTION
Iconic “Bolle” shaped Murano glass bottle designed in 1966 by Tapio Wirkkala for Venini. This particular two-tone (translucent orange and clear) example was produced in 1989. Wirkkala, a Finnish designer and sculptor designed the “Bubbles” series in collaboration with Murano glassblowers at Vetreria Venini. After his death in 1985, the designer’s works continue to be celebrated and are exhibited at the MoMA in New York and at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris.
